THE HUMAN ABSTRACT To Guest On Tonight's 'Chaos With Full Metal Jackie'
August 24, 2008Members of the Los Angeles-based technical progressive metal band THE HUMAN ABSTRACT will guest on tonight's (Sunday, August 24) edition of Indie 103.1 FM's specialty metal program "Chaos with Full Metal Jackie" at 10:00 p.m. PST (1:00 a.m. EST Monday morning).
To listen to the show live via the Internet, go to this location. The program also airs on KNAC.COM Monday nights between 7 and 9 p.m. PST (and again on Sunday mornings between 7 and 9 a.m.).
"Midheaven", the sophomore full-length CD from THE HUMAN ABSTRACT, is available for streaming in its entirety on the group's MySpace page.
Released on August 19 via Hopeless Records, "Midheaven" "follows a full cycle of man while he makes his ascent and discoveries and is eventually brought down by his lust of conquest and greed," says the band's vocalist, Nathan Ells. "Basically we wanted to have this album be cohesive all the way through. We came up with themes for each song and then wrote the songs like we were doing a film score and try to capture the mood musically for what each theme represents."
Although the initial sessions for "Midheaven" were helmed by veteran producer Toby Wright (METALLICA, SLAYER, ALICE IN CHAINS, SOULFLY, FEAR FACTORY),the CD was completed with a different producer and Wright's name was "wiped off all credits," according to drummer Brett Powell.
THE HUMAN ABSTRACT's Hopeless Records debut, "Nocturne", was released in August 2006.
